摘要
Nanhai a star city in the west of Guangdong province began its "e-government" initiative in the year 1999. It is a pilot project that applies the latest computer and Internet technologies to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of government. Nanhai government has constructed some e-government systems and has been constructing some new e-government systems. The city has advanced information infrastructures and suitable policies; it also has a leading e-government developing strategy. E-government has greatly increased government transparency and efficiency, The experience of Nanhai will be a good reference to other cities to develop their e-govemment.
