Quality engineering education and student performance

The paper looks at some of the basic objectives of engineering education, which includes (but is not limited to): up-to-date study programmes, motivated students, favourable teaching and learning environments and appropriate physical facilities at the university. The assessment of a student's learning performance can be seen as an indicator of the quality engineering education. The paper presents a case study in this area that focuses on the Kaunas University of Technology, Kaunas, Lithuania, and looks briefly at the grading system and implications of the average grade values of students' assessment.
