Efficiency and compression ratio of a finite-time Diesel cycle

摘要
Within the context of finite-time thermodynamics, we propose a Diesel-cycle model. In this model, we consider instantaneous adiabats and we take all the cycle's time evolution as only ascribed to the isobaric heating and the isochoric cooling processes. The results we obtain for the efficiency and the compression ratio of the cycle are in accordance with typical real values of these quantities. Our results improve those reported by H.S. Leff for the same cycle.
