摘要
This work describes an experimental study of the shrinkage in unsaturated polyester resins. Shrinkage measurements during cure were performed using an in-house equipment. The resins chosen for this study were an isophthalic and an orthophthalic polyester. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of recipe, curing temperature, styrene content in resin, and type of polyester resin (iso or ortho) on the amount of chemical shrinkage. Styrene content and curing temperature were found to affect the amount of shrinkage significantly.
