This is the third in a slowly-unfolding series of "profiles" of individuals pertaining to many related aspects of the "art" of beekeeping. The first, about Don Olson of Hel-O Honey Company in Minneapolis, revealed the perspective of a regional honey packer, good for all of us to be exposed to for marketing information. The second, on Don Fiedler, highlighted an extra potential source of income for beekeepers from an additional hive product - propolis. This third paper attempts to zero in on the subject of pests and diseases and apiary inspection and regulation.
