摘要
Recycling of heavy metals from Ni-Cd batteries is very serious problem as nickel and cadmium are toxic and carcinogenic metals. The aim of the article is to analyze the possibilities of Ni-Cd batteries bioleaching by Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria. First step of bioleaching at 20 C and 30 C of separated and crushed electrodes of Ni-Cd batteries was studied in the work. Adapted and non-adapted bacteria were used. Nickel bioleaching efficiency was about 50% after 28 days. Significant influence of temperature and time was observed. On the basis of research results it is possible to predict that adjustment of bioleaching conditions will increase the process efficiency and will shorten the time of bioleaching.
