摘要
Abnormal conditions of patellar alignment start at the first 30degrees of knee flexion. Although there are many techniques of measuring patellar tracking, patellofemoral articulation remains a great enigma. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been rapidly replacing other diagnostic modalities for knee joint pathology evaluation. This article discusses biomechanics of patellofemoral articulation and usefulness of dynamic MRI for evaluation of the patellofemoral joint and the evidence for and against its use, including considerations of cost and benefits and its future application.
