Geotechnical analysis with the computer package B4

The paper presents some principal features of the computer package B4 - advanced software primarily developed for analyses of vertical stresses and settlements of the half-space loaded with vertical loads. Besides the computation of stresses and settlements the package yields also support at the computation of the ultimate bearing capacity of foundations, and consolidation without or with vertical drains. The package further allows the computation of settlements of the soil, improved with slopes. As the package offers a solution where all results, accompanied with essential equations are transmitted to a desktop publishing package it is primarily oriented towards user that require easy and fast solutions in a representative forms without effort.
