摘要
Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is a well known and well researched condition. Yet it is not unusual to come across patients with this disease where the diagnosis was missed. Recently we saw a patient with this disease who was misdiagnosed and treated as gout with no improvement in symptoms. This case report highlights salient features of DISH, its diagnosis and the basic principles of management. Readers are reminded to consider this diagnosis in the appropriate clinical setting.
