摘要
Electrical Engineering and here especially the power side is an important topic in today's engineering curricula. Through Bologna Process, curricula had to be shortened by 25% but additional contents were to be included. Thus education must become more efficient. Non-Electrical Engineering students shall get application oriented knowledge and competence in variable speed drives. Power electronics is the decisive part but hard to understand if basics in electrical engineering as well as power electronics are taught with only few lecture hours. The proposed method relies on practical experience of teaching advanced power electronics and drives at a university where no Electrical Engineering curriculum exists. Teaching must be supported strongly by good lecture material prepared for the described target group.
