摘要：
Claims that statistical process control is widely misunderstood, stating that few people realize that it offers a very powerful approach to the achievement of business excellence. Argues that few people, even some users of SPC, understand the fundamental concept, although it is not complex and certainly not statistical. Maintains that the successful implementation of SPC in a company can lead to huge savings as managers learn how and why their power to control a process is strictly limited by its inherent variation.
