摘要
In this paper, we demonstrate how localization of LED transmitter can aid in mitigating the Bit Error Rate (BER) and Packet Error Rate (PER) in underwater data transmission using Visible light communication (VLC). In particular, we evaluate the error rate performance by using computer vision-based tracking of the line of sight of LED-Photodiode VLC using a camera. We show the importance of tracking through empirical evaluations, particularly to minimize the effective error rate due to outages in the communication link caused by an object blocking the line of sight.
