摘要
The paper presents a Quality Management System for education in the Maritime University of Szczecin. The system was implemented in 1996, 1997 and 1998 and certified in 1997, 1998 and 1999. The following problems are highlighted: policy of quality, tasks, scope of certification, process of implementation, improvements and effects reflecting education and training process. The Quality Management System covers the activities of four divisions in the Maritime University: The Rescue Training Centre, The Training Centre for Marine Officers, The Faculty of Navigation and The Marine Engineering Faculty. The Quality Management System has been approved by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance and Polish Register of Shipping to the Standard of ISO 9002 and 9001: 1994. Implementation of ISO standards in education is very innovative. The interpretation of several ISO 9000 standard requirements for particular educational and training purposes is presented. The Maritime University of Szczecin has excellent results in effective methods of training marine officers and engineers. Quality management in Polish maritime education and training is developing rapidly. The implemented quality system for education proves that the education centre is able to satisfy the needs and the requirements of industry.
