摘要
The effects of texturing parameters on the structure and properties of cationic dyeable polyester yarns have been studied by varying draw Patio, TPN ratio, first heater temperature and heater contact time according to Box and Hunter experimental design for four variables and five levels of each variable. Crystallinity, birefringence, amorphous orientation, tenacity, elongation at break, crimp contraction, crimp stability, dye uptake, tight spots and broken filaments in draw-textured yarns have been studied in relation to texturing variables for polyester yarns with different DMS salt content, The presence of DMS salt in the fibre affects the draw texturing behaviour of these yams and the properties of the draw-textured yarns. With an increase in heater temperature, crimp properties improve, tenacity shows st maxima while dye uptake shows a minima. Increase in D/Y ratio decreases the number of broken filaments but the number Of tight spots increases. in general, the effects of process variables on cationic dyeable polyester and normal polyester are similar but the properties of draw-textured cationic dyeable polyester yarns are inferior to those of draw-textured normal polyester yams and the-re is a deterioration in properties with an increase in DMS salt content. The optimum first heater temperature for maxima in yam tenacity decreases with increasing DMS salt content.
