Strategic restructuring in the Taiwanese textile industry, with particular reference to relocation

This paper reports the findings of a survey of the offshore investment strategies of a number of large, professionally managed Taiwanese textile and clothing businesses, It deals especially with choice of location, funding arrangements, and type and scale of investment and concludes that, in spite of the risks involved, the restructuring strategy is the only realistic approach to sustaining an industry with its base in Taiwan.
