摘要
Mild to moderate mitral regurgitation was revealed by magnetic resonance imaging in 27 of 55 patients (47%) included into randomized double blind placebo controlled comparative trial of cilazapril (5 mg/day) versus hydrochlorothiazide (50 mg/day) in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Duration of treatment was 6 months. Both drugs caused pronounced lowering of systolic and diastolic blood pressures. Decrease of volume and extent of regurgitation independent of hypotensive eff ect was observed in diuretic-treated patients.
