Use of an intramuscular iron drug for treatment of postpartum anemia in women.

摘要：
The article presents comparative efficacy of two iron preparations in postpartum anemia diagnosed in women suffering from iron-deficiency anemia when pregnant. Maltofer was administered intramuscularly (group 1), while Gino-Tardiferon was given per os (group 2). A 24-h increment of hemoglobin was 1.28 g/l in group 1 and 0.3 g/l in group 2. Maltofer treatment resulted in a significant rise of hemoglobin, erythrocytes, color index and serum iron. High efficacy of Maltofer in postpartum anemia allow its use as a drug of choice for treatment of women with iron deficiency anemia.
