摘要
Social media is a space that allows society and government to interact and exchange information. Unfortunately, there is little empirical research to prove the benefits. This paper aims to describe the interaction between society and government in twitter. We collected 591 tweets from the community to 51 local government official accounts. The results show that people use twitter to ask certain questions related to public services and share information with local governments. Researchers found that twitter has the potential to be used as a two-way communication medium, but most local governments use it for one-way communication. This paper is useful for practitioners to provide an evaluation of the implementation of two-way communication through social media. Meanwhile, for academics, researchers found the application of the theory of dialogic communication in twitter.
