摘要
A high gain reconfigurable narrow beam steering array (RNBSA) antenna with Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) is presented in this paper. The RNBSA antenna is implemented a probe coupling feed technique to supply the energy to the radiating elements from the source and vice versa. At the same time, the MEMS circuits are integrated on the transmission line of the RNBSA antenna as the RF switches. The presented antenna is capable of steering the radiating beam in three narrow different angles that are 89 degrees, 90 degrees, and 91 degrees. The RNBSA antenna successfully executed a high gain antenna of 14.5 dB for one state. Besides, it is achieved to sustain the strength of 14.6 dB for the remaining states. This proposed antenna has a desired operating frequency of 9.41 GHz used to determine the performance of the antenna included the radiation pattern. The half power beam width (HPBW) is represented 50% or -3 dB from the peak of the radiation beam. HPBW for the all three states are 17 degrees, 16.1 degrees, and 17 degrees respectively. The RNBSA antenna is designed based on 10% maximum losses that mean 10 dB is the lowest value of the return loss for the preferred operating frequency. The RNBSA antenna has potential to be implemented for detecting application and smart radar system in the future.
