The feasibility of industrial applications of gasdynamic CO2 laser

Analysis is made of the feasibility of developing a technological gasdynamic CO2 laser with a power of 10-20-kW, utilizing the products of combustion of methane, propane-butane and kerosene in air. It is demonstrated that laser hardening to a depth of 1.5-2.0 mm requires the use of lasers operating in this range of output power.
