Band lumping strategy for radiation heat transfer calculations using a narrowband model

Band-integrated intensities along a line of sight and radiation heat transfer in a one-dimensional, parallel-plate enclosure are calculated to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the statistical narrowband correlated-k (SNBCK) method with and without band lumping for radiation transfer over widebands and over the entire infrared. Results from the SNB model are used as the reference solution in the comparisons.
