摘要
The measurement of the metacognitive component in written composition is reviewed and analysed in the present paper. It reflects on the key role of metacognition in written compositions, and on the med to study, and assess it. It offers at review of different kinds of metacognitive assessment techniques or instruments used in written composition. These had been extracted during a review of the scientific literature in the field of study. First, different types of assessment instruments are analysed based on when they were administered and the nature: of the assessment, that is, 1) on-line, administered during the writing task; 2) off-line, administered after the writing task or independently from it. Then, with respect to typology and assessment instrument, the paper reflects on both the problems and difficulties, and the advantages shared by the different assessment techniques and instruments. and on the latter's operational application in the metacognitive assessment field. Specifically the paper undertakes a review, of their empirical application within the field of written composition.
