10-GB/S transmission over 1400 km on G.652 fiber with dispersion compensation by chirped

摘要
We successfully transmit a signal as long as 1400 km with G.652 fiber using chirped fiber gratings. Asymmetrical apodization is adopted to reduce the grating's group-delay ripple (GDR). Power and dispersion management are used to suppress nonlinear effects. (C) 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
