摘要
Bismuth borate glasses doped with a series of Tm3+ concentrations were successfully prepared by the melt-quenching technique. Their absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, and fluorescence decay curves were recorded at room temperature. On the basis of the Judd-Ofelt theory, the intensity parameters and other spectral parameters related to the luminescent performance were obtained. Especially, the fluorescence concentration quenching of the (1)G(4) multiplet and the related mechanisms were analyzed detailedly. Consequently, an approach to investigate the fluorescence concentration quenching in Tm3+-doped materials is proposed. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
