摘要：
The effect of the forced melt convection induced by modulated crucible rotation on the impurity distribution in PbBr2 single crystals is studied. Certain purification and growth process improvements, which make it possible to prepare crystals of high optical quality, are tested. Better melt stirring (at a larger Taylor number) reduces impurity content and leads to a more uniform impurity distribution over the crystal diameter.
