摘要：
The article reflects on the evolution of the different paradigms of communication for development and its conception linked to social change. The active role of the media is recognized in achieving successful communication for development, specifically community radio as a promoter of changes in the communities. Aspects inherent to this type of radio are addressed, such as its counter-hegemonic character, the value of its speeches and its social sustainability, guarantors of its relevance as a space for participation within the community.
