摘要
Hybrid steel-concrete walled frames are commonly applied as a seismic resistant system in industrial constructions. This paper experimentally investigates the ultimate strength, deformation capacity and failure modes of a new irregular connection with reinforced concrete wing-walls. Ten interior and exterior connection specimens were designed with and without wing-walls, and the hysteresis behavior was tested subjected to cyclic load with constant axial force. Test results indicated that the main failure modes of type of connection were dominated by the shear capacity of the panel zone with irregular dimensions and reinforcements. Reinforced concrete wing-walls enable to enhance the ductility and safety margin of the hybrid beam-to-column connections. Finally, an improved design method was recommended for estimating the shear capacity of steel reinforced concrete beam-to-column connections with split-level dimension. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd.
