Vortex-antivortex pair fluctuations in quenched diluted layered easy-plane magnets

摘要
It is shown that a nonmagnetic site in a two-dimensional XY magnetic material may create a new type of static vortex-antivortex pair (pinned-pair) with lower energy than the conventional one found in the pure crystals. Because of their larger Boltzmann factor, these pinned structures may dominate the conventional pairs, affecting significantly the thermodynamic quantities of the layered quenched diluted magnetic systems with easy-plane anisotropy.
