摘要
The traditional methods of shaped beam synthesis for array pattern need to control the complex weights (both amplitude and phase), which are difficult to achieve in low cost applications. In this paper, a kind of phase-only shaped beam synthesis method based on multi-population genetic algorithm (MPGA) is presented. Meanwhile, a propriety fitness function which fit for the shaped beam synthesis is also designed for a uniform linear array. With MPGA, the elements' additional phases are optimized to realize a certain shaped pattern. Simulation results represents that the good shaped beam result can be obtained in consideration of side-lobe level by this method which has fast convergence and robustness. It is shown that the MPGA have a broad prospect in design of antenna arrays.
