摘要：
We show how to incorporate the line search into Newton's method and simplify solution procedure for obtaining the square root of a matrix. The line search improves the global convergence properties of Newton's method and ameliorates the stability of iteration procedure. Some numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the new method.
