Application of process capability analysis in the manufacturing industry

摘要
Process capability analysis plays a very important role for control/improvement of duality characteristics of the products manufactured by the production process. Process capability indices are single dimensionless measures which are used to predict the future status of the duality characteristics of the product. Statistical methods e.g. Mean, Standard deviation, Skewness, Kurtosis and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) as well as the process capability indices Cp, CPU, CPL, Cpk and K have been used for the analysis of process capability of Flat Heads Rivets produced, on three different machines and at five consecutive times, by an industry. Causes of variation and suggestion for the improvement of variation have been discussed.
