Shipping, security, and access to sea lines of communication are of increasing importance in the Asia Pacific region. This is because these routes are the ocean highways for vast trade flows critical to regional economic growth and development. In this article, the existing arrangements in maritime safety, law and order at sea marine environment are detailed.
