A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF METAL SILICATE CATALYSTS ON PYROLYSIS OF CELLULOSE, LIGNIN AND PINE WOOD CHIPS

摘要
In this paper, thermogravimetric (TG) analysis was applied to study the effects of Na and Li-Na alkali silicates derived from coal fly ash on the catalytic pyrolysis of cellulose, lignin and pine wood chips at different temperatures (400, 500 and 600 degrees C). In presence of NaSiO3, LiNaSiO4 and Al2O3, the yield of volatile matter (VM), which includes the uncondensable gases and the condensable bio-oil products, was lower compared to the runs without catalyst. The maximum volatiles yield followed the order: No catalyst > Al2O3> LiNaSiO4 > NaSiO3. Oxygen was removed maily by decarboxylation and dehydration reactions, with decarboxylation preferential in presence of LiNaSiO4.
