摘要
The problems related to Instantaneous Frequency (IF) are discussed. The need for a quantity such as IF is clear. Three different approaches, the Hilbert Transform (HT), the Teager Energy Operator (TEO) and the Generalized Zero-Crossing (GZC) are presented. Each of these methods has its own strengths and weaknesses. In general, the HT method gives the most consistently acceptable results when the data is both nonstationary and nonlinear.
