摘要
An efficient and practical synthesis of 3 beta, 14 beta-dihydroxy-5 beta-androstane-17 beta-carboxaldehyde is described. The key oxidative cleavage of the unsaturated lactone of 3-acetyldigitoxigenin 1 utilises RuO4 as catalytic and NaIO4 as stoichiometric oxidants.
