Energy production from biomass: The case of Italy

This paper presents an outline of the results from a study undertaken with the purpose of having detailed information on Italian normative, Country's primary energy consumption, residual biomass available in Italy, existing energy plants using biomass in Italy and biomass requirements at present, critical factors and strategies for future actions. The paper gives also a brief description of a project for an "Agro-Energy Farm" to be developed at the Agricultural Mechanisation Research Institute - I.S.M.A.
