Studying music with performance purposes implies a different approach if compared to that of the esthetician, historian or composer. With this in mind, the main objective of this paper is to analyze Villa-Lobos's Choros 2, from a performer's perspective. Classifying large view (general) and small view (particular) musical elements, among the ones considered relevant for the interpretation, such as sections, tempi, rhythmic characters, style, the author wishes to establish a coherent connection between analysis and performance.
