摘要：

Establishing a system for tracking different indicators of sustainable development, reflecting specific changes in environmental conditions and monitoring progress in achieving environmental policy is a priority concern of the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat), UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). As a member of the European Union, Romania, through its National Statistics Institute is actively engaged in this process. This article shows the current system of indicators of sustainable development and a comparison between the most representative values for the European Union environmental indicators and their values in Romania.
