摘要
Water utilities in the US need to adopt a holistic approach to reduce the loss of financial and natural resources associated with non-revenue water (NRW). They need to adopt such a holistic approach and a number of methods that offer different solutions to address these issues. An advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system can be a fundamental component of any NRW detection program. Many solutions are available that address the losses associated with NRW when implemented in coordinated manner. A comprehensive approach is required to achieve this objective, including acoustic leak detection, district metering, pressure management, and tamper alerts. Each of these methods leverages specific aspects of AMI technology to detect leaks in different ways.
