Effect of biodiesel on the lubricity of kerosene and gas oil for use in the diesel engine

摘要
The effect of biodiesel on the lubricity of kerosene and gas oil for use in the diesel engine was examined. The lubricity was drastically improved by blending small amounts of biodiesel. Amounts of 1 wt% and 2 wt% of biodiesel added to gas oil and kerosene, respectively, provided adequate lubricity for use in the fuel injection diesel engine. The High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) value decreased from 574 to 367 mum by adding 1 wt% biodiesel to gas oil while it decreased from 739 to 385 mum by adding 2 wt% biodiesel to kerosene.
