摘要
The performance of high-temperature materials in reducing atmospheres is quiet different from that at oxidizing atmospheres du to the changes in the activities of corrosive species. These changes will shift the reaction to the more thermodynamically favored corrosion products, which most likely to be non-oxide products. Therefore, the protective oxide scales that are usually formed under oxidizing conditions may not be protective under reducing condition. Materials composition also plays a major role in this process and determine the protective nature of the oxide scales if they form. The following review provides information on the development of distinct features in the corrosion scale as a result of alloy and/or gas compositions in some common high-temperature applications.
