摘要
Ethylene glycol (MEG) is often used in plants and pipelines to prevent hydrate formation. Worldwide, there are several offshore wet gas pipelines that transport acid-gas across long distances under hydrate-forming conditions. Several pipelines use glycol as a means for dehydration. Under certain conditions, extremely severe corrosion will occur if inhibitors are not used. This article describes efforts to develop corrosion inhibitors with glycol that prevent severe corrosion in wet gas systems.
