Time-interval method for failure probability analysis of the structures

摘要
It is general to apply Turkstra's rule, recommended by JCSS and adopted in ISO2394, to combine the action effects. However, the empirical Turkstra's rule are not consistent actually with Ferry Borges-Castanheta action model, and issues an estimation of the structural failure probability on the low side. For this reason, a method, the time-interval method, is p1ut forwards in this paper, which takes the failure probability of the structures within the designG working life as that of a series system composed of time interval elements. This method is perfectly consistent with Ferry Borges-Castanheta action model, and can give a conservative result of the structural failure probability. By the time-interval method, it is not essential to combine the action effects approximately according to Turksta's rule, and identify the maximum combined action effects.
