The Function of Code-Switching From the Perspective of Social Pragmatics

In recent years, Code-switching is the one of the hottest topics in research both at home and abroad. In today's society, as there are more and more bilingual and multilingual language users, the phenomenon of code-switching may inevitably occur in speech communication in some certain social situations. Code-switching, as one of the key research topics in the field of social linguistics, is drawing many scholars' attention. From the aspect of social pragmatics, this article aims to research the functions of code switching, with the purpose of regulating the reasonable use of code-switching in social interaction and the better use of language and cultural transferring as well.
