摘要:
Hydrogen is a fuel that can be utilized in a variety of energy processes, e.g., combust on and electrochemical (fuel cell) processes. It can be produced by electrolysis of water, splitting of water via concentrated solar energy or photo assistance, reforming of methane, or gasification of plentiful carbonaceous feedstock, such as biomass, fossil fuel, or waste materials. Coastal and tropical areas have easy access to processes involving water and solar energy. High temperate or subarctic regions or regions with less available surface water, however, are more likely to rely on gasification processes involving carbonaceous materials for hydrogen production.
