摘要
An engine performance, combustion and emission characteristics of (madhuca indica) mahua bio diesel and its blends with diesel is presented. The thermo-physical properties of all the fuel blends have been evaluated and presented. A four stroke kirloskar Tangentially Vertical (TV) single cylinder water cooled constant speed direct injection (DI) diesel engine with eddy current dynamometer is used with different load conditions to evaluate the performance, combustion and emission characteristics of the diesel engine using mahua oil biodiesel as fuel with modified injection pressure of 205 bar and standard injection timing of 23 degrees bTDC maintained as constant throughout the experiment under steady state conditions of the engine. The neat bio diesel (B100) is found to burn more efficiently and gives lowest oxides of nitrogen as compared to all other blends of fuel. The percentage reduction in NOx is 13.8 for B100 as compared with B0 fuel.
