The University of Hagen on its way to a European university

In its first part, the paper briefly introduces the distance teaching University of Hagen, addresses the actual transition process for universities in general, discusses the concept of Learning Spaces and Virtual Learning Spaces, and sketches the actual situation of the Virtual University of Hagen. In its second part, the paper discusses various examples of successful co-operations between European universities, in which the University of Hagen is playing a major role.
