摘要
Objective: To review the scientific literature regarding the epidemiology of injuries in basketball. Material and Methods: We searched the Medline database and a manual search. We found 85 original articles and 22 revisions, of which 28 were selected, analyzed and compared. Results: Epidemiological studies are focused on basketball at age training, professional basketball, women's basketball, and study of basketball injuries compared to other sports. Conclusions: The sprained ankle injury is more prevalent, both in training sessions and in competition. In addition, players who are more injuries are centers and fordwards in the professional and college basketball. The contact with another player is the most frequent cause of injury. The girls have a higher incidence of lesion than boys. In addition, the index lesion is higher during the competition in the training.
