The National Collegiate Athletic Association's Sports Injury Surveillance Program (NCAA-ISP) made it possible to analyze the incidence and injury patterns of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in athletes. This confirmed gender-related differences that must be incorporated into prevention programs, says Dewig's study group.
