Comparison of Hemodynamic Parameters of Bicuspid Artificial Heart Valves in the Mitral Position

摘要
Several models of bicuspid artificial heart valves and their hemodynamic characteristics in the mitral position were compared. The aim of this work was to determine and compare hemodynamic characteristics of bicuspid artificial heart valves with various modifications of the body and leaflets. To assess the functioning of artificial heart valves, an artificial environment simulating the natural environment of the valve was created. Simulation of the computational environment and calculations were carried out using SolidWorks Flow Simulation software. The obtained results showed how the design of the valve body and leaflets influences the hemodynamic parameters of the artificial heart valve. The best performance was shown by the BAHV-4 model with an oval body and radial leaflets. The homogeneity of the blood flow velocity in the BAHV-4 model during the rapid ejection phase was 93%, which was the best result among the studied models.
